Current Readings - Call out for young people to participate
Current Readings is an exciting partnership project developed by the Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA) and Culture and Sport libraries as part of Glasgow International Festival (Gi) 2010. The project aims to engage BME young people ages 12-15 years in the Gi Fiona Tan exhibition "Tomorrow" at GoMA, and the wider Gi Festival. Through this music and writing project we hope to develop young peoples awareness, appreciation of and confidence in contemporary art.
Participants will work with musiscian Michael McCarthy and writer Hannah van Hove to create personal responses to the exhibition, using word and sound to explore ideas of identity and the Gi Festival theme: Past, Present and Future
As an introduction to the project, we are holding five taster workshops in music and writing at community library venues around the city.
